Title: Christmas!!!
Post by: Familyrig on May 19, 2020, 05:55:53 pm
Contacted a wrecking yard yesterday afternoon that showed online they might have one of the tail lights I needed.  Through broken English I made a gamble & paid him $60 on my CC, $40 for the tail light & $20 for shipping.  Box shows up this morning with not one but both tail lights!  Better than Christmas!

OK, I'll bite. Looks like mine. Where did you find them? Might get one for spare.
Thanks, Steve

Been searching the internet for a while since Foretravel quoted me $470 plus shipping for one.  Could not justify that at all.  Randomly came up on a wreckers website.  The guy said he only had the one but both showed up. Both of mine look like a jigsaw from being patched back together.  I will keep my eyes out for more and post up if people need them. Love the hunt!

Knowing the website would be nice.

Several years ago I replaced one of ours. I ordered from FOT. Being a bit of a packrat I kept the old one. Didn't really have any reason to keep it, but I found a hole for it, so it has been along for the ride for 5-6 or so years now. It will stay with the coach when we sell.

Knowing the website would be nice.
Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market (http://www.car-part.com).
It seems to be a national search inventory that multiple wreckers are part of.  I have put in the information a few times over the last year and had different results that never panned out.  Previous times the part #'s have not matched until now.

Located a pair of lights out of a 94 at an RV salvage yard in MO.
Didn't care for the price and they wouldn't budge.
The picture they sent was to far away to tell condition so "no sale".

I did offer to put the info about them up here on the Forum but they said no, "no pictures or contact info may be posted".

Only posting this to let ya'll know that if you REALLY need some, there they are, but you're gonna have to "find" them.
BTW: when you see the pictures of the coaches don't get excited, nothing left but an end cap with 2 taillights. Pictures should be removed.

My neighbor does fiberglass and has agreed to remove the old and glass in new. I'm thinking simple, functional, easily field replaceable (ideas from others accepted and appreciated).
It will be nice to be done with these old units.
