I know, i know.. a 1985 era Chrysler electronic dash board is nothing to crow about. But its original and has been working since new... the bar graph tachometer with color bars, digital speedometer and the water temp, battery, oil pressure, were in good condition.
We have lost all power to this dashboard except for headlight indicator, turn signals and E-Brake
During the Newman Freeman Racing days someone added water temp and oil pressure analog gauges...
We downloaded a GPS speedometer/odometer app... i think there is a cigarette lighter Battery Charging Display unit available.e.
What else do we need. Fuel gauge is not visible anymore but we can use miles to next fuel stop
Advice ???
We are going to give up getting help with the 1985 Chrysler Laser XE electronic dash board from the Forum... we now know this was used just for the GAS engine GV which are so few and far in build numbers..
We are moving on from this. We will leave the dash in place to keep its original interior ... but we need some help with installing a analog fuel gauge. We found under the couch/carpet access to the fuel tank. Are we just using existing hot and ground wiring to a mounted fuel gauge ???
Thanks for any help you can provide...
I would after testing the wires to be what they appear.
Ignition turned on to have power to fuel sender hot ??? Or multimeter will show Voltage without ignition ?
Thank you so much.
Check Hot rod stuff. Many places make gauges and sending units. With the directions in the box.
How hard did you look for a diog tree for your dash?
From a mechanics manual ? I was able to see table of contents of a 1985 laser chiltons book and the electronic dash was not listed. Found a FB page for the Dodge Daytona turbo and have posted questions seeking help with dash...
