Title: Cable tv connection vs tv outlet in storage bay. 1998 U270.
Post by: ALT on June 02, 2020, 06:19:57 pm
Cannot find input for cable tv. What I think I have in service bay outside is for an outside tv connection???  Help a new owner understand this.

ALT, I may be wrong, but if the connection is in the utility bay (water& electric and drain hookups) then it is probably the place to hook up to cable.  That being said if it is like mine depending on what Previous owner did in the cabinet overhead by TV it still may not work

Unless it's been removed it should be on the vertical panel in your wet bay. Here's mine. Your wet bay will likely have a top panel. Anyhow, behind the white panel, the coax cable comes through the rig's floor into this compartment where it attaches to the cable outlet.

Do they still have cable TV at campgrounds/RV Parks?

Correct.  OE was for cable IN to be in the wet bay.

No idea if a previous owner changed that.

In addition, on my 1998, I have a cable connection in my curb side bay for a a campground tv, along with both 12 volt and 110 duplex plugs.

When we bought our coach, the dealer paid for a night at a local RV resort that had cable. The first night was in our SOB, second night was in our new (to us) FT. I couldn't find the cable hook-up to save my arse. Later, after we got home, I was going through some items in the roadside wet bay, and wondering why FT put a duplex receptacle in there. Flipped the cover open to make sure it was a GFI and, low and behold, there's the cable TV connector and the land line phone connector. Very nicely done...but well hidden (to me, anyways)  :-[
