Need help. looking for some time and think I've found the one. Any recommendations or suggestions for someone qualified to help with a pre-buy inspection for a 2000 U-320 single slide coach. Located 45 min from Quincy, Illinois, 1 hr Hannibal, Mo, 1hr 45 Springfield, Il or 3 hrs St. Louis. Is there anyone in that area qualified to help me? This is my first purchase and needless to say I'm very apprehensive and intimidated by the prospect. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

When are you going to do this?
Have deposit on coach. Trying to get wrapped up next couple weeks around beginning of July. I am in Maryland and working on getting everything organized. Just got back from looking at coach last night. Private seller.
Condition, condition condition is what anything is worth used.
Definitely get an inspection, Keith Risch (936) 462-3764) will travel if you need an inspection, very knowledgeable, works as a lead mechanic at MOT and used to work at FOT
What's a $1,000 to find out you don't want a bank account draining lemon or the power to get another $5,000 off the price to cover airbags, shocks and tires,
Good luck
David
I would not proceed without an inspection by someone familiar with these coaches. This could save you heartbreak and lots of money.
Keith is awesome and is truly a Foretravel expert that I would trust completely with my coach.
Good luck!
I'm thinking he's already done the deal around July 1st from his second post.
Have not completed purchase ad of this point. Was able to get coach looked at by diesel truck repair for a drivetrain inspection. Owner had coach shut down twice in 30 minute trip. Has problems with radiator fans.Trying to diagnose. Inspection revealed some radiator rot, air bags dry rot, needs exhaust and compressor for dash A/C. I'm concerned that if replacing radiator and expense involved should CAC be done at same time as PM. Fuel lines have not been replaced are they due also? Looking at about 12k for radiator, bags (shocks?), exhaust and dash A/C compressor way I figure. Once he gets radiator fans figured out we are re negotiating
If from up north/salt on roads, and the radiator has rot, CHECK THE BULKHEADS VERY CAREFULLY!
Spiderhitch, if you can do some of the work yourself that will give you a little more wiggle room but if paying someone else to do work, have it gone over very carefully by someone who knows these coaches.
