Title: Pole antennae on roof above driver
Post by: ALT on June 14, 2020, 11:17:30 pm
1998 Foretravel U270.  3 foot pole antennae on roof above drivers position.  It lays down when not in use. What is it for. What does it do???  Smaller one above passenger side is for cb, I guess?

On my 98, the tall folding above the driver is the CB, and the thin wire on spring above the passenger is the front dash radio.  Right rear thin on wire  spring is the rear bedroom radio.

Hi ALT, if this is the antenna you asking about it is the over the air (ota) digital tv antenna, it folds back and lays on the roof while going down the road and you crank it up while parked for local tv if there is any available where your at.

As Dave said, most likely a CB antenna.  Inside the coach, look in the storage cabinet above the driver seat.  You may see the coax cable attached to the base of the antenna.  Trace the cable to find the CB radio unit...usually located behind/under the dash somewhere.

Dave, I think you have described what I have.  Thanks.  I have identified the fold down tv antennae.
