How can I determine exactly what alternator I have? Spec sheet on Beam Alarm says 130 amp. The only plate I can find on the alternator is the Transpo voltage regulator.
Thanks
As I recall the nameplate is on the back side. It's time to remove the alternator and search.
Was this bought new from the factory or are you a second or third owner? this might answer the original question as to what it is or could be but probably have to pull it to see.
if it has a transpo regulator, its either been rebuilt or an aftermarket unit. Probably a Leece-Neville. you can upgrade the amperage. mine is 160amp. just make sure the unit has DUVAC.
This is the alternator that is currently in ours: Prestolite A0012824LC

Thanks to all. l will most likely replace my alternator with a new higher output unit as part of our lithium/solar upgrade.
Several possible upgrade alternators available. Shop around for price and desired features, according to your system requirements.
I purchased the DELCO 28SI described in post below last year to upgrade our coach. Haven't gotten around to installing it yet, so can't provide a "User Review". Installation is on my To-Do list.

Another one you may wish to consider is the DELCO 40SI. This has been used in some high-dollar lithium battery upgrades on this Forum. Roger (Roger & Susan in Home2) has reported good performance from this model.
