Hey all,
Having a problem with my room as it won't retract. Hydraulic motor is running, fluid level is ok (was low, but I added fluid). Worked fine on Sunday when I extended it. The red light comes on as soon as I hit the extend/retract button. Here is what the indicator down below looks like. It almost seems that the pins are not releasing. Appreciate any assistance!
Make sure the bladder has retracted. You should be able to see light at the upper corners and front and rear edges of the LR slide. Visually confirm every time you move the slide. I think your picture indicates the pins have released.
You slide is like the 2001.
Make sure the parking brake is on.
Do you have a HWH reset switch at drivers left arm? Used it yet?
Not seeing anything like that. Is there a way to manually reset the system?
Thanks Roger. SOP every time.
Following the procedures in the owners manual, I opened the four valves then attempted to use a come-along on the prescribed hooks. Unfortunately, that just bent the hooks. After that, I rounded up 5 guys and we were able to push it in. Closed the valves, inflate the bladder and I'm good to get on the road. Will dig into this further when I get back home.
Hope you got your problem resolved. Sure makes your heart race when the slide won't come in. We have been working on slide problems on 2002 U320 since we bought it in December. Sent boxes in basement in to HWH. Replaced locks, replaced sensor that send message to HWH panel. Had wires pinched above the slide and repaired those. Had problem with air system valve that fiills bladder on the big slide. Big rain and the coach flooded. Sure nice to hit the button and everything works! Good luck with your issues. Sure makes me miss the 94 Grandvilla.
Dan,
I hope you figure it out soon. Where is that box with the indicator lights located in your coach? I have an 02 made Oct 01and I have not come across a box like that. Those indicator lights sure would have been helpful when working Out my slide issues.
Thanks
Eric
Eric,
On an 02, the lights are located in a box mounted on the RightSide of the top center rail In the main ps storage bay. ( at least on mine). The boxes/boards are stacked several deep and the one with the lights is not the first one you can see. They are not labeled and are in a vertical row. If you get down there and watch, you can see them change as the room is extended and retracted.
If you get the HWH operator's manual (HWH computer-controlled leveling system 2000 series), they are shown on page 39, with labels. I'm pretty sure you can find the manual with a search on the forum.
Rich
I just searched the the links on the forum all seem to point to a bad HWH page. For some reason I can't post my copy. PM me and I'll send it to you.
I am somewhat familiar with the boxes you speak of. I had to remove the main one and send it to HWH for repair. They did not put the stacks back together and the harness would not reach. I had to take it apart and rotate the pieces.
I was hoping there was a very clearly labeled system like the one in the beginning of this thread. I will need to get out the label maker and take my time with the operating manual.
Thanks for the reply!
I went through the trouble shooting section of the manual. My signals coming into the box were proven to be good and the next step was call HWH for box repair.
In regards to the bad box, HWH had to change out a few resistors and relays. It only cost around $250 with two day return shipping. The bad part is it took over three weeks for them to return my call to even send on the box and another three plus weeks to make the repair once they had my box.
I had a similar issue on my coach and it ended up being my house batteries would not produce enough volts/amps to actuate the solenoids. Replaced batteries and it resolved the issue. Prior to installation of new batteries I would run the generator as an interim solution, build up charge and then try.
I dropped my coach off with RedTractor about a month ago and he has been working with HWH to figure it out. It sounds like its pulling teeth for him to just get a call back from HWH techs.

Good luck with HWH been waiting 2 weeks just to get an authorization to send my control box in.
It took me 6 weeks, two years ago to get a call back. Took them 10 weeks to get to it and replace a few relays and resistors. Only cost $200ish and $50 was second day return air shipping.
Red Tractor was able to confirm with HWH that the control box IS the problem. Ron has now pulled the box and shipped it back to Iowa....so the wait begins. Apparently it's a very low serial number, not that it makes a difference, just interesting information.
