Title: Door window cord broke

My window in the entrance door fell shut and when I looked at it the cord is gone. Anyone repaired this? I like to leave it open for cross ventilation since we have no screen doors

John, it's the actual glass sliding window, Not the shade

I think you should post some pictures  as what you are saying does not make any sense to me. I am sure the window does not have a cord to operare it, it just slides in a track.

Cord is to assist window to stay open, attached to one side. Retracts into a spring mechanism top of window groove.

it does have cord....mine is broken also not the cord but the metal clip that retains it

Dan,
Mine did same. Used a 2in long S hook and fishing leader clasp. Works perfectly. I used The
existing top window frame and  glass window holes.

Nice surprise today. The tension cord was still there it had come off the clip. I like 2 minute fixes!
