Title: Shore power not working
Post by: Sbroyles on July 07, 2020, 08:43:49 pm
I recently inherited a 1982 FTX Ored, which I love. Took it boondocking over the weekend & hooked it back up to shore power when I got home but it's not working. The polarity has no reading, no indicator lights. Electrical cord It's plugged in to works fine with everything else.Fuse & breaker boxes seem fine. Not sure what to check next. My dad was always the fixer of all things mechanical. Any help is appreciated.

I am not familiar with you coach.

What have you plugged into? Is it a standard 110 volt 20 amp Receptacle with an adaptor or a 30 amp plug (the 30 amp cannot be a dryer or other 220 volt receptacle which would fry your electronics)
Are you sure you have power entering the coach, that your shore wire has power at the Coaches plug in ?
Is there a main breaker in the coach that may be off?
Is there a salesman's switch that is turned off?

Do you have a generator that works? Does it power the coach? If It does it may be the transfer switch that is faulty and not switching to shore power.

It is a silver turn switch by the front door. It shuts dow power to the coach if you are storing it.

It shuts off the lights and not much more.

Problem solved, sort of. There's a 2nd breaker box that I need to have fixed but For now I have to tap it to kick it on.
