Going to replace the shocks on my 1999 U270 motor coach I'm in Canada and trying to fine a part supplier with out going through the hassle of going through customs.
Can anyone help me with a part number for these shocks so I can cross reference them .
Also the rubbers are rotted out on Tie rod ends and drag link can anyone help out with part numbers on these items
Need right hand front rotter and pads if anyone has numbers for these too
Is Foretravel the only place you can order these parts or how do you find out info on them .
What is the running gear information that you use to walk into a part store to get parts , the serial number does not seem to help
Just bought this coach six months ago trying to get up to par at my own pace
Also have problem with carbon monoxide detector and propane detector , they both quit at same time would they on same power supply or is this just coincidence.

I too would only reccomend Koni FSD shocks. For me they stopped bottoming out, any road caused porpoise issues, still have great comfortable ride. My truck chassis shop said that they sometimes found Bilstien caused shock mount to break.

1. FOT is one source for parts. MOT is another dealer very familiar with Foretravel coaches. Besides MOT and the factory, most Forum members use multiple "other" sources for parts. NAPA is a good "local" store where you can find many parts that are not necessarily specific to Foretravel. In some cases, the only parts source is online. You look at the old part that needs replacing and try to find identifying part numbers. Then you go online and search for that part number. Find the best price and order it. Beware of counterfeit parts or parts that say "replaces such and such...". You are usually better off getting the genuine part from the original manufacturer, rather than a generic knock-off from no-name suppliers.
2. Walking into a standard neighborhood parts store and giving them your coach serial number is a waste of time. Telling them the part is for a Foretravel will probably net you a blank stare. The best way to be sure of getting the correct part is to have a specific model number and/or part number in hand. Even better, take the old part in and set it on the counter. Say "I need one just like that".

Check your electrical schematic to locate the 12 volt power source for the detectors. If they are mounted close to each other in the same wall or cabinet, then very possible they are on the same circuit. Check your 12 volt circuit breaker schematic to see if there is a dedicated breaker for the detectors. The circuit breakers are (I believe) located behind a removable panel directly in front of the co-pilot seat.
Thanks can you tell what MOT stands for and are they part of the factory or just a dealer , we have no dealer in Canada and I'm trying to figure how to get parts and where I can get work done if I brake down on the road , had steering box problems on our first trip started leaking in NJ and no one would look at it ended up on driving all the way to Florida before someone would repair it I was just calling around by phone dropped into two places and they just told me to try down the road thanks again for the information .

For the rubber boots on the tie rod, I've been told they are not available unless your replace the whole end. Just keep them well lubed and you should be fine.

I got my tierod boots from a Peter built truck shop.
Another option on the drag link and tie rod boots is to just grease them more frequently and then replace when they develop play.
It is amazing how robust those ends are and how long they will last with no boots. Often another "half life" of the boots.
It is very rare to find boots on these coaches in good condition. If is very rare to find any play in the drag link or tie rod ends. Something I check on each coach I inspect.
