2003 U295 3620: the Pyle flip up monitor which displays both the backup camera and the the tank levels died on our last trip. No biggie I thought, I just swap in a new smaller RCA monitor for the tank levels, and take this opportunity to upgrade the backup camera system too.
The backup cameras are all done now (separate 4 camera system) and I have wired in the monitor for the tank levels, but can't get the level display to appear on the monitor. There were two video RCA cables running into the back of the old Pyle—I've plugged what "should be" the feed from the tank monitor system into the back of the new monitor, but no luck. I've tried reconnecting all of the old wiring for the backup camera, thinking that maybe the tank level system gets powered by the same circuit as the old backup camera, no luck. Before I start tearing the dash apart even more, is there any insight someone can offer?
There should be a switch on the dash to turn on the monitor and camera. You can check in your wiring book to see how it was wired up.
