While repairing trans problem, the tech found a busted lower shock absorber mount ahead of rear axle on passenger side. It needs to be welded to repair.
My coach is 38ft, no tag. What are limits to drive?
It's as if that shock was not working. No chance that the shock will hit anything.
Just make sure that the shock won't move around and hit something, like the airbag, and you can go till you can get to a welding shop or your home base. Shocks are a relatively new thing in the vehicle world think A model. It will cause the suspension on that side to move more quickly (as that is the function of the shock).
Now I wouldn't head out on the Alcan Hyw. without getting this fixed but you should be fine for the trip home.

Remove the shock and drive until convenient to fix it.
Thanks. Probably will have to remove the wheel to get access. And I'll be checking the other mounts
Also check RIDE HEIGHT.
If well higher than it should be, the axle can hang by the shock. Neither shock nor mount are designed for that.
If you must remove the rear wheels, why not have the mobile welder be there at the same time?
