Has anyone been able to figure out how to power the SimpliSafe base station with DC? The company says the Base Station is 7.5 volts. I've tried finding info on some type of adapter that could work with a 12 volt system rather than having to run the inverter the whole time just to power this single small device. But no luck yet.
Just did a search. This is one of several: Amazon.com: Autek DC/DC converters Regulator Reducer 12V to 7.5V 3A 15W... (http://www.amazon.com/Autek-converters-Regulator-Reducer-DCCON-C157-5/dp/B00BN5WIFQ)
input voltage: DC10.5-20V
output voltage: 7.5V
output current: 3A
Hi Jennifer,
Look at Amazon.com: DROK Buck Voltage Reducer Converter 12V to 7.5V 3A/22W Step-Down... (https://amazon.com/DROK-Converter-Step-down-Transformer-Regulator/dp/B00C66B3PM/ref=sr_1_7?crid=2DYMEBUGVW9BT&dchild=1&keywords=12v+to+7.5v+dc+converter&qid=1596142723&sprefix=12v+to+7.5v%2Caps%2C260&sr=8-7)
It should work. Search for "12v to 7.5v dc converter".
We bought on of these SimpliSafe systems and never got it to connect reliably. They we using TMobile at the time as I recall and there was no reliable connection at our house. The did say after many calls that they had one that would work with Verizon but for us here Verizon was barely better. We switched to ATT at home (and on the road) because Verizon was so poor at home. Make sure where you ar and whare you go that thebase station will connect to cell signal. At the time it did not use your WiFi.
All may be different now.
Thank you both!
