Title: New found light???
Post by: "Irish" on August 07, 2020, 12:12:25 am
99 U270, there is a 8" long (approx) light under the kitchen cabinet that would illuminate the kitchen floor if: 1) I knew how to turn it on.  Or if it's not working  2) what's the replacement for a bad bulb?
Think it may have flickered to life once just after we bought the coach and has since been unseen and out of mind and sight ever since.
Any ideas, a switch ?
Thanks
David

David,
In our 320 it is a switch at the front door labeled step. It turns on a light in the stairwell and also under the cabinets.
Not sure on replacement.
Hope this helps.

Well not sure if the U320 is the same but I also have the same light under kitchen cabinet and another under bathroom  cabinet.  The on & off switch is to the right of my entry door. It shares the same switch with the step light. They are LED rope type lights...like in the valances I think?

Same with mine and I have a switch at the sink that turns them on and off also.

I think you are talking about floor lights. I have them at baseboard under kitchen and bathroom sink cabinet, also in private bath. Switch is in bedroom and can be seen as you lay on your pillow underneath the headboard cabinets along with gen, docking and under cabinet lights for night stand

OK the vote is that they are definitely on the step light switch = not working in my case!
I was wonder what I needed to fix next,
I will take the base out from under the sink cabinet and check the connections, possibly time to add a modern rope light.
WOW : we have a light in the bathroom - did not know about that one, it has never worked.
Now I have to find out why they are both dead.
Thanks for all your help

David, we replaced our under the counter lights with these, an easy replacement.  Just cut the wires that are connected to your old lights and install these or some like it.  Have fun!

I second Joe's idea re replacing the stock bulbs with LEDs. The originals are incandescents which use a lot of energy and get really HOT. When I replaced mine I used the bright whites as I prefer them as good lighting rather than kinda mood lighting.

Your link shows that they don't know when or if they will have them again.

I just replaced mine with a small strip of leds.
The wiring can be accessed by removing the bottom drawer under the stove.
This is the old light.
The middle switch at the door lights it.

There are lots of those kind of lights on Amazon that are available.

Check for a open fuse in the 12V panel under the foot of the bed. The telltale is if the green LED under the "Interior" switch at the entry door is not illuminated, it's probably an open fuse; it's on the same fuse as the step/floor lights (in our coach)
