Has anyone had to replace your turn signal stalk. Coming back from Colorado last fall the plastic broke off in my hand. FT sent me a new stalk, but not the right one. They sent me one w/o the cruise control built into the stalk. I've sent pics to Brad @ FT. He thinks they have some upstairs, but haven't heard back as yet. What is involved in opening up the steering column? I've never tackled a steering column before, so looking for insight.

Several of us have had to repair the OEM stalk. It breaks off where the retaining pin is inserted. See if the thread below is of any help:

Some dumbass (no names here, please) broke the plastic off on our turn signal/hi beam/low beam selector, in to about three pieces.
Seems somebody (again, no names here) had no way to flash or switch the headlights from high to low beam.
I very carefully used some J.B. Weld between the plastic parts.
Guess it has held. It's been seven or eight years now.
Should hold if that dumbass doesn't telescope the steering wheel all the way down again.

Nitehawk, after looking at the broken stem yesterday, I was wondering if an epoxy would fix the stem. If so, I shouldn't have to even remove the steering wheel cover. The stem works fine, but duct tape isn't the final soultion :))

Larry, After epoxying the pieces together I held them tightly in place with rubber bands for about a week. Then I cautiously worked my way away from the steering column when I used the lever. I wanted to give the epoxy plenty of time to cure.
Now I just make sure the steering wheel is telescoped far enough up that It doesn't impede travel of the lever.
Sounds like a plan. There are no trips forecast for some time to come, so it should have plenty of time for curing.

OK. talked to Brad in parts at FT yesterday. They can't seem to find the right stalk for what I have. His suggestion, check w/Napa or other parts store. Otherwise he recommends using Flexseal or Gorilla glue. Quote "We use that a lot around here". Between this and the surprise shipping charge from FT, I'm rather disappointed in the mother ship. Hate to complain, but still not real happy.

Yep the old 25.00 min shipping charge is an eye opener for small parts.
