Title: 2003 U295 1 slide
Post by: graybill1 on August 21, 2020, 07:50:36 pm
I recently purchased the U295. The Girard awning worked for 2 days, and now  ... nothing. I accidently extended it about 1 foot when I  pushed the unmarked button looking for something else. Then a day later, my daughter (also a 295 owner) came down and showed me the button sequence. Now, it will not extend or retract ... no sound of any motor activity. Any hints as to where the control panel might be hidden? Thanks, Ron

I'm sure you know that the Girard awning requires 110VAC to operate.

Yes, we have tried it on housepower and on the generator to no avail. The on/off switch is only showing 5 volts.

First check to see if you have a GFCI tripped. Most of those awnings are ran through it.

Thanks John, the only gfci I  found was in the bathroom and it hadn't tripped. I checked the under compartment receptacles and they all were working. Ron

On mine, most of the electronics are in the cabinet above the door. You might try looking there.

Hope this helps,

Trent

And, on ours, it plugs into a receptacle, behind the cabinet, above the curbside windshield. That recept is on the same breaker as the TV recept.
