So when I got our coach in July we found what I think is a frozen water heating line. I was unable to locate a shutoff valve and pinched closed inlet and outlet waterlines. I have not got to troubleshooting it, but during my fuel line replacement going on now I was going to figure out what froze.
My question is is it acceptable to operate the aqua hot with damaged potable water lines for heating the coach interior? Or can it be subject to damage it further?.
I need to use the coach in October and fear my long list of other major problems will short me the time to rebuild it as I'm planning. Transporting family members to my daughters wedding 2100 miles away. Cold water functions normally. I'm sure we will need heat then

They are different loops. I used my Monaco AH on one trip with the potable water loop bypassed.
Yes I understand they are different loops, just concerned the potable water loop controls or affects heating levels in the aqua hot. Don't want to make a bigger mess out of it by running aqua hot for heat. Didn't see any additional damage is good news

dsd, Remove the cold water in and the hot water out pex lines at the bulkhead of the heater. Loop them together with a 1/2 inch npt short nipple. You will have pressure cold water inside the coach and all the interior heat from the AH that you want.
If you choose to repair the AH, please call me as I can save you some money.

dsd, to add what Rudy said, I had the same thing happen. I bypassed the hot water lines from the AH w/PEX lines and put in an electric hot water heater from Home Depot. I ran it this way for 2 seasons till I rebuilt my AH this spring. The down side, the heater had to be plugged into 120 in the coach which meant either the generator or plugged into shore power.
BTW the hot water lines are wrapped around the outside of the main tank to gather heat. The main tank has antifreeze mixture inside which heats the furnace. There is a line inside the main tank which circulates engine coolant thru to either heat the AH while driving or be an engine preheat while parked.
I've got pictures posted from my rebuild. Shouldn't be to hard to search when you get ready to fix.

Oh Larry I actually laughed out loud. Was planning on doing the exact same thing then putting the extra hot water heater in my shop. Its13 years old and will need replacing anyway. Too funny
