Title: removing isolator and circuit breaker plate
Post by: dans96u295ft on August 28, 2020, 01:52:00 pm
Under my 1996 u295 I have the isolator and 3 circuit breakers mounted to a steel plate along with the ac relay and looks like it's screwed to the frame with two bolts. I am going to have to cut all the screws holding these items because of corrosion. My question is, I want to drop the entire metal plate holding everything for better access. I found a bolt on either side near the top of the metal plate everything is attached to. It looks like the lower part of the plate may be welded? I remember some off you moved this plate into the engine compartment. While I want to leave it where it is, can I just remove the 2 bolts and the plate will come off with everything????
Thanks

Mine was not welded and I did'nt want to get new cables so I redid it and put it back where it was,if you refrain from driving in bad weather it does stay dry even in most rain.

Got it. I will pull it off and clean it up. Been there 26 years so I'll leave it in the same location. Thanks. I searched all Craneman, nothing on removing the steel plate but lots of other info. Thanks

The bolts are just 5/16" and if you have a lot of corrosion they'll probably break off like mind did.
