Just saw his post abut an hour after he made it.  Called him and gave him a plan of action that he is executing as I write this so things are looking up.

He is either indeed low on coolant in the coolant tank or more likely his low level sensor has failed.  But either way, there are things he can eaisly do to get back in operation in a few minutes.

All the best.

Is Brad's different than my Aqua Hot? I don't recall a low level sensor on mine.

Craneman, good question. I didn't have one on mine when I rebuilt it (not that I can identify anyway.)

Well  well ;  all it took was a phone call to the Aqua Hot wizard . He walked me through the mess and discovered the problem to be a faulty boiler antifreeze sensor . He guided me to a way around that to get the unit operating properly . Happy is the word . This morning it was 44 degrees and now a cold rain --- humbug --- but now a worm bug . High today is forecast to be 53 degrees . My unit  model is --500-D and this is the first time with any type of issue . Rudy is the knight on a silver horse .  ;D  ;D  ;D  Brad Metzger

Craneman,  Brad has a 600D model heater which is different from most from the AHE 100 series or the older but good 431/12.  You all do not have a low tank level sensor to monitor the tank level, you all do it manually.

Once we diagnosed the problem being a bad sensor, he shorted the sensor wires at the Electronic Control board and was back in business.  Until he fixies the sensor, Brad is manually monitoring the tank level just like the owners of older heaters.  But he has heat and hot water a plenty.

But I did not get to talk to Barney much to my dismay.

Still summer time right --? The little thermometer on our door that measures outside temperature shows ---35 degrees ---now , without the Aquahot we would be wearing long johns . All this measures up to the very fact that this forum is loaded with folks that can and will do that extra step to help each other just to keep things running properly . Am aware other forums are good but this forum is the very best , hands down . period . Thank you again Rudy . Warm and comfortable and near ice outside  hmm--                                  ;D  ;D  ;D    Brad Metzger

We also made the call to Rudy the Aqua Hot Wizard yesterday!  He helped us override the controller so it would work since January, but alas, it is finally giving up the ghost and I had to ask Rudy to send us the new digital controller!  We are here in cool Yellowstone NP and it went down to 31 last night, so glad the controller is still working for now!
We will be stopping by Baytown on our way to Mexico in February or March to see our great friend to all on this forum!  Thank the Good Lord we have people like this that are experts in their fields and willing to step up and help us all.  I could name more, but would make the mistake of missing someone, so you all know who you are!
