I recently purchased a 2013 IH-45. We love the coach. I only have one question, and nobody has been able to answer. The coach has these cool outside lights-bar on each side of the coach in the middle. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to turn them on. I've left numerous messages with service techs at MOT (where I purchased the consignment). I assume they have not responded because they do not k ow as well. They look factory installed because the paint matches flawlessly.

They might be part of the "docking lights" on the panel near your retarder.
To big to be running lights. Could be tied in to the docking lights like pibutler said.
Give Tyle or JT a call at Foretravel and I'm sure they would give you an answer.
I figured they were part of the docking lights as well, however, they did not turn with them. If nobody else offers an answer, I'll reach out to Tyler or JT.
This was an add on by someone. It could have been installed by anyone that had the paint code and then painted them. It looks like they are low enough that you can go in the compartment below them and see where the wire goes. There might be a switch in one of the compartments or they might have added it to an existing light or added a switch in the lighting controls. I am assuming you checked all of the light switches inside by the entrance door. If it would have been me I would have added to the awning light switch
Hope you have better luck with them then I do. I have been trying to get an answer to some questions and just gave up calling and emailing.
Thank you for the advice. I looked in the bays and found no switch. Surprisingly, Don't look like it has any awning lights. I see a receipt from Foretravel in 2017 that was for 15k for four awnings and accent lights. I assume that is thisIs the work. The awning have remotes for both sides of the coach, but no light button on those remotes. It just has "in/out" "stop."
Another option is to remove the 4 Allen head screws and see if their are wires, lithium batteries, etc. they could also me motion activated when you open your compartment at night.
Whats in the bay below the light bar?
Can you get the contact info of the previous owner?
If awning is like mine you can not see the light unless you have the awning extended. The lights are on the back side against coach instead of on bottom.
Sure sounds like they were installed when the 15K work was done. If you have the receipt from 2017 it should have the owners name and phone number on it. All of the receipts have either mine or previous owners name & number on them.
On our '09 Phenix I stumbled on to the light switch for my outside lights in the cupboard over our sink - along the side of the door frame. Just a thought.
