I first spoke with Antonio back in Feb. 2020 about the painting that he did. Today I returned home(Lufkin, TX) from PP. I left the Blue Angle(my 95 U240 ) with Antonio for decal R & R. This the first pics he has sent to me.
I must tell a story: We had just crossed the border and was rolling about 15-20MPH, old man, 1 dog, and two puppies cross the road in front of me. At the last moment one of the puppies went back toward the shoulder, I hit the brakes real hard and just missed him. At that time a small black car darts passed me very fast, crossed two double yellow stripes. As I first see his rear lights, I hear a loud carb. sound, then loud exhaust, dust and sand going everywhere on my left side. After dust clears, WOW it is the Mexico Policia, he ran the black car down and pulled him over. When I rolled by very slowly, the officer made several hand signs and mouth guesstures begin thankful for not hitting the dogs.
More pics just now.
Was the border an issue with 19.. What if any issues going in and coming out of PP itself and the border.. I'm due to go in October and your the first I've heard of coming or going since spring.
Are you dropping your rig or staying with it? I'm going around Nov 1'ish.
Good Morning,
There is no problem at the border. The COV-19 health filter is not open any longer. We cruised through going in on Sept. 7th about 8:00am with 6 cars ahead of us. Took about 5 minutes to go through. The lanes coming out were packed for miles. Go slow in the little town and watch for the old man and puppies. We left PP and hit the border coming out at 10:30am on Sept. 9th and it took maybe 5 minutes, show the passports and a couple of questions.
I hope the weather is better when we go back in about 3 weeks. The wind was blowing sand at 50MPH for both days we were there. The sand was like riding a motorcycle in the rain, it feels like little needles. It left a thick coating of sand on anything that had an edge like ladders, bay doors. If I opened the door, I had to be ready to run down the steps cause I could not hold the door part way open. Sand was in the MH everywhere.
Can't wait to see the finished job. I have just noticed that my MH is not the same on both sides. The windows are different and FT made the decals different on both sides. I like it. What do you think??
Pat,
I'm staying with it .. Was hoping you would be in town. I'll probably leave Texarkana 3rd week of October.
Not unusual for decals to be different on the sides because of windows.. Will be sharp when you see it again.
Hey Dub; wish you great success with your new paint job! We are planning on coming to PP after the first of the year out of Florida. Most likely around late February or early March for the seat upholstery work. Keep in touch! Joe
10/4 Joe... looking forward to the ride.. Plan on getting the stairwell and backsplash tiled while there. You guys take her easy moving from Yellowstone.
I can recommend Twig's guy.
Who's the tile guy.
Jaimie and Estaban. Tile setters by trade.
Just an FYI and you may know this the "J" in Jaimie is spoke as an "H" sound. I was confused when when the girl at the desk said his name. Then my high school spanish class kicked in.
