Has anyone replaced their dishwasher? Where did you get it?
Ive been married for 27 years as of last fri the 18th
Heard its cheaper to keep her but I kinda like her so I am going to move forward.. She does dishes actually pretty good.. and is a clean freak.. :)) :)) ^.^d
So, David, where did you find her?
My Fisher Paykel came in a previous Monaco Signature and the new buyer did not want it. I and my wife enjoyed it so I removed it from the Signature. I have not reinstalled it yet as we do not want to give up the storage. Although when traveling before, we also used it for storage. Now, with the virus issue, I think they will be more popular.
So much is available on Amazon, including Fisher Paykel, and your local dealer.
We bought our Fisher & Paykel single drawer unit from Home Depot. We asked them to match the Lowes price, and not only did they do that, they gave us an even lower price. We LOOOOVVVEEE our dishwasher, and run it one to three times a day. Best upgrade ever!! ^.^d ^.^d ^.^d ^.^d ^.^d
The Fischer Paykel model that David Flanigan gave us has a width that considerably exceeds the drawer width (David built our drawer to replace our failed dishwasher). I just saw that Camping World has a Vesta that matches our cutout size for roughly 1/2 the price Fischer Paykel listed on their website. Will likely go with that and also replace our Celeste 2000 W/D with Camping World's Celeste 2100XC.
I originally installed a Avanti 2/3 size dishwasher in out 95 320. It was acting up so I replaced it with a Bosch 2/3 stainless unit, VERY happy with it.
Plenty of capacity, very efficient with water and energy, extremely quite. Also a great place to store dishware when not in use.
I, too had a Vesta in each of my last two Foretravel's, the first was a counter top installation, the second was a built in unit under the stove top for the same reasons as U 295 owner. I too had ordered a Fischer-Paykil only to have to return it when I found that it didn't fit. My wife and I were very pleased with both results. The only caveat, DO NOT RUN IT UNDERWAY! It'll not take the vibration. I had to replace the plastic agitator. The manufacturer was most helpful supplying the part and instructions, but it was still quite a chore. This was in the counter-top unit.
I installed a Vesta like (they are sold under many brands, I think mine was Magic Chef) about a year ago after realizing that with some installation effort it would fit nicely in under sink cabinet. That area, due to its poor configuration has never been of much use, but losing the large pull out drawer under stove was a no go. It's worked flawlessly since then, very quiet and uses less water than hand washing. No more likely to give it up than we'd be to give up the washing machine at home and go back to a washboard.
Well worth the cost and effort.
Well, looks like we'll be stopping by Camping World near Tyler, TX to pick up the the dishwasher and W/D as we head into Nacogdoches and let David Flanigan install them. We gotta have slide toppers installed there also, as our coach came from the factory without them. Already had FOT order them a couple of weeks ago so they'll be in stock when we get there. Alton (shop foreman) said that he had never seen another coach leave the factory without slide toppers before. Don't know why the original might have ordered it without.
Hope to arrive in southern Texas, for the winter, shortly after turkey day.
Long story.. Lets just say she wasnt my type when we met.. She grew on me.. The kicker is .. knew her for 4mo then proposed and married less than 6 months.. Best move ever!
Never had a dishwasher in my RV ..I feel it takes to much room up for the amount of washing needed..Paper plates and metal forks..10 min cleanup with 7 people.. Not hard.. Maybe paper plates and forks will cut the clean up down to nothing
If our coach had come with a dishwasher along with the Splendide DW would have had me throw it out also. Only dry camping our entire rv life water and storage is the issue. The '81 had stacked washer and dryer and were removed before our first trip to have a closet in the kitchen area. I am sure if we stayed at campgrounds with unlimited water and no worry about holding tanks a dishwasher would be acceptable. Like David said paper plates most of the time and the last day or two silverware and plates stay in the sink until we get home to water and dump.
