Title: Hydraulic Fan Motor Seal Kit
Post by: jor on October 18, 2020, 06:46:21 pm
These seal kits have gone up in price. They are now $308 for the two kits including shipping.  I called Turolla in Ames, Iowa and they transferred me to Jake at Berendson Fluid Power in California. You can call Jake at 714-663-6761, ext 101. There is a four week lead time on these kits.

Jor is the kit the same for both pumps?  Tempted to stock them. It's the seals for the rotors and shaft?

Jor the seal that usually leaks is the one around the output shaft.  It is a 20mm id 30mm od and 7mm thick. I found 3 for 10.00 on eBay mine were C/R brand. (Chicago rohide) I just checked and there are a couple of vendors that have singles for less than 10.
I couldn't see buying the whole kit when nothing else was leaking.  I did but one kit and it was 120 if I remember correctly but they was jan 2019

The kit has all the seals including internal ones. The master uses all of them and the slave only uses some of them. Reply #19 shows them.

Only one of mine is leaking and I think it is that seal. It is not dripping yet. Anyhow, I am having my radiator replaced so I thought why not get the motors rebuilt at the same time so I bought two of the kits. Turns out the place that was going to do the motor kits does not do that kind of work after all, only hydraulic pistons (A&D Hydraulics). I haven't been able to locate any place that is willing to do that work so I'm going to ask the shop that's doing the radiator to replace both shaft seals. Worst case, they go back on in the same condition they are now. Thanks.

Bernd Ramspeck in Nac re-sealed my motors several years ago.  They haven't leaked since.
