Title: Sloped HWH control panel
Post by: nitehawk on October 26, 2020, 10:43:12 am
When we first got our 1989 GV the HWH control panel down below the driver's left thigh was a joke to see with my bifocals and the ambient light. I would get down on my knees and reach over the seat and use a flashlight to illuminate the panel.
Under the panel is the fuel fill tube. The panel itself was tipped down about 45 degrees so it was even worse.
I made a new housing with a flat top for the HWH panel to mount on. Now I can just look down to my left and see which lever to actuate.
I calibrated a small tube level and mounted it by the HWH panel for the front to back leveling and another small tube level on the bottom ledge of the monitor display. Leveling now is easy and quick.

Tip for all D.I.Y. project managers:  TAKE PHOTOS while you are working!  Before, during, and after shots make the project clear to followers.
