Title: Formal introduction...
Post by: oldmattb on November 02, 2020, 10:36:38 am
...this is ours now.  I have mentioned our search and find experience elsewhere.  We were FT owners about a decade ago, and went with a Monaco for a while.  We "lost" it in an accident about a month ago.  We decided we wanted a FT again.

We found this one in Brenham, Texas.  Owners purchased it through MOT about 1.5 years ago.  Nice paint, nice tile floor, some underside surface rust.  (Maybe some trips to Mustang Island?)

If you know this coach, I would love to hear from you.  Reply or PM fine.  I welcome any information, but I am seeking paint codes for touch up paint.  I have a couple of mystery switches too!

Welcome home! Beautiful coach. Regarding paint I'd check with FOT and/or Xtreme in Nacogdoches. I'm sure one of them did the headlight conversion and paint.

Welcome and great looking coach.  Glad you decided to "get back on the horse" in a Foretravel.

Also, really good looking "security" dog!  What breed?

I requested a build sheet for it from FT, but I have not heard from them yet.  I should check again.  Good idea about Xtreme - would they have IDs by build number?

Thanks!

RE dog:  No idea.  She was a "mark-down" at a Rottweiler rescue adoption.  She was returned once because the new owner decided she might be a pit bull.  Best guess on her origins via appearance is a Chernenko.  DNA test shows she is mostly poodle.  About knee height and around 20 pounds, and incredibly fast runner.

She thought playing with a coyote in our yard was fun, but she hides under a table when the wind blows.

Paint can be zapped by a good auto paint store with their tool, and they can make touchup paint bottles. Will be much closer then using paint codes.

Welcome to the club, beautiful coach

I was in need of touch-up paint for my wife's 1966 Ford pick-up.  I took two small pieces off and had the shop match them.  The dark color was a two stage, the light one a three stage.  Cost for smallest containers was over $500.

I needed a part not related to paint, so I went down the street to O'Reilly auto parts.  They had the colors in rattle cans!  Less than $15 for the two.

Good advice you gave, but I am looking for 95 percent there for a gazillion small stone chips.  No big blending spots.  One of those brush-in-bottle things might do it.

You need a different automotive paint shop.  I can't remember the price but I used to have spray bombs made up with matching paint for small items.  Think motorcycle.

Ref # 4

Our German shepherd is as good looking as they make them, but he is afraid of a mouse.

I wonder what the back story is on the prior owners only having that coach for 18 months.

And welcome to the Foretravel hive.

I think it was the common "aging out" story.  They both had back issues.  He had a recent back surgery, walked slowly with a cane, and had difficulty getting into the coach.

Paint design looks Xtreme; headlight conversion looks FOT (Phenix-like arrangement and lens color selection)

That'll do it.
