Title: switches behind instrument panel????
Post by: Jjseff on November 05, 2020, 09:31:01 am
Just purchased a 1999 u 270 and have been learning the systems on the coach.  When I flipped up the cover on the dash exposing the back of the instrument panel I noticed two rocker switches. Anyone know what these are for?????    Thanks  Jeff

Fault codes for the engine and transmission. You count the little light bulb flashes after you flip the switch. Fault codes online.

As I remember, the key has to be on.  Cummins ISC 8.3 Overview | TruckManuals.com (https://www.truckmanuals.com/cummins-isc-8-3-overview/).  Transmission: http://www.mwrench.com/barth/Allison/Allison%20codes.pdf

If you do a forum search for dash switches (Hover over community, click search, type dash switches in search box) you'll find lots of good info.  For example:

What are these switches for? (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=36534.0)
