Title: Power for fridge fan
Post by: Realmccoy on November 17, 2020, 05:59:16 pm
I want to install a fan near the roof vent of my Norcold fridge. There is a small white wire that does not appear to have any voltage going to it in the bundle by the fridge. It appears to be a spare, does anyone know where it goes? I put a tone tracer on it and followed it under the driver side couch in a bundle on the floor. I could not follow it from there very easily.

I could put a splitter on the main 12 V line to the fridge, but I am hesitant to mess with a 22-year-old board that is working. My attempts to remove wires have not been productive lately.

You could also tap into the light switch in the galley since this would be a low-amp draw.  Could even add a switch so you could turn it on'/off from the galley.  That is how I wired ours.

Realmc,

It has been a long day today but IIRC that goes up under the dash to the breaker panel that is hid behind the kick panel. It should be around breaker 17 to 20. That is on a buss that would only have power if the ignition switch was on. I have no idea what it was to power, because our coach has a 3rd wire also that was not used. I hunted it down long ago and forgot about it. I will try and pull the print for your/our age coach tomorrow and see if I can find it for sure.

Mike
