Title: How to fix the under sink valve to filter
Post by: Running Odometer on November 21, 2020, 05:53:00 pm
Just changed the filter. Try to open the valve. The lever fall off. How can I fix this?

It seems like pretty hard to replace the valve.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

From the photo, I'm guessing that valve is threaded into the plastic "T".  If so, you just need to remove it, check the thread size, and buy a new one.  Those small brass needle valves are very common.  Can be found at stores like Lowes, Home depot, or aquarium supply stores.

Also online (see link below).

Chuck:
Thanks for your quick response.

I was concerned that I might need to cut the pipe.

If it is just thread, it is a lot easier.

Already bought all type needle valve I can find in Home Depot.  One of them should fit.

Thanks again

Even if you had to cut the pipe, it is no big deal.  You could cut the existing "T" out of the pipe and replace it with a push-connect brass "T".  Then use a reducer bushing to get down to the size needed to connect the small brass valve.

With push-connect hardware, doing repairs and modifications to the coach water system is a piece of cake.

............or you could just remove the innards from the brass valve and replace them with the ones from a new valve.

Thanks for everybody's help.
I bought this need valve (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-4-in-OD-Compression-x-1-8-in-MIP-Brass-90-Degree-Elbow-Valve-Fitting-800589/300096254) from home depot.
It is a drop in replacement.

Now I have filtered water again.

Don't you love it when your repair costs only about ten regular bucks rather than coach bucks.  ^.^d
