Title: Exterior mirror
Post by: oldmattb on November 25, 2020, 09:29:24 am
The passenger side convex mirror came loose and broke on our last trip.  I have been researching for a replacement, and not sure what I need.

I know it is a Ramco.  I think it is a 6000 series - cast body, not plastic.  Mirror is about 4 1/4 by 9.  Heated, remote adjust.

An inexpensive substitute would be OK.  Probably should be a heated mirror just because.

So I am thinking it would be the SNP-GLS602WS-KIT.  The dimensions of the 9000 and 6000 series seem the same.  So replacements with the heat element are not available, or is the mirror backing somehow transferred.

I do live in southern Arizona, so I don't know if I would use the heaters.  Opinions?

I have never even tried the mirror heat switch. If you are in your coach in the ice and snow. You likely have done some horrible scheduling or are a Skiing aficionado. But a skier in a motor coach is pretty rare. Although we do have a skier on the forum that uses their coach in ski country.

So I won't be banished for not being original and stock?  Opinion enough - unheated mirror!

Thanks!

Even in ice and snow I have hardly ever used them.

When mine fell off FT Parts ordered an exact replacement.  As I remember it was a little fussy getting the new one installed correctly.

Just call Ramco. I did, and they were a great help. One of mine fell out and lost it on the road. Got the exact replacement. Like $60.00 plus the ride. Heater and all.

Oldmattb, be sure and get the recommended goo to attach the mirror. When I re-glued mine after it fell out. I folded a towel to the size of the glass and put a couple of bungee cords to hold it down till it set up. That was 4 years ago and it is still attached.
