Title: modified the bracket to replace Heart freedom 25 with Magnum 2812
Post by: Peter on November 28, 2020, 06:37:02 pm
Does anyone out that swapped out their freedom 25 inverter to a magnum inverter have pictures
of the install showing the bracket modification required to install the Magnum in the Heart Freedom 25 original location?
I have read several time it is a very simple install including the ARC050 monitor and the AM-MBK Battery Monitor, except for
the inverter holder.
Any help (and pics) would be greatly appreciated!!
Peter

I went out and took a picture of the install but I can't get it to download on to  my computer. The two front vertical braces I bent
outward so there was enough clearance so the Magnum could get between the braces. Then fitted a piece of angle iron to fill
up the gap. I can't remember what I did for the back bolts, I will check tomorrow and maybe my son will tell me what I'm doing wrong
with the camera.

Here are some of my install.

Basically,
1. Cut off the vertical supports
2. Widen the bottom by welding a 1" strap on each side of the bottom.
3. Weld new strap under bottom and bend up to bolt to top of basement at old location.

In reply #3 there are a couple of gas jugs visible under the inverter.  I don't think I would be comfortable doing that after reading about Chuck & Jeannie having their inverter catch on fire.

Disclaimer;
There may not be gas in the jugs, I think I remember it was Chuck & Jeannie and it's really
none of my business.

T-Man safety is everyone's business. Thanks I will move the gas can. The other thing is a generator and I don't know where I can move it to but I will look.

If you are modifying the ceiling mounted rack make sure to use the existing bolt holes or be sure you are attaching to some steel substructure.

I mounted my Victron Multiplus on the side wall of the bay where the Prosine was.  It sticks out further into the by which made some changes (better in the long run) to my basement arrangement.

When I helped someone install Magnum in Heart bracket, I think we turned Magnum sideways to fit without bracket mod with connections not facing out.

Question for the Magnum owners......

Can the Magnum inverter be mounted in any position, without affecting its performance or operation? Cooling ?

Thinking of replacing my OEM Freedom 2500 watt

Google the Magnum pdf manual for the model you plan to install.  Mounting orientation will be in the manual.
