When it rains......
I can't connect my iPhone to read Victron
This is a new development
It says I'm connected in Settings, but when I press my readout says
"....already connected to another phone ..... only single possible...ok"
I am NOT connected to another phone
It is NOT ok
I'm not impressed with lack of customer support
Can't find paperwork, at this time
Bought it from our Foretravel marine supply guy...
Help!
Did you change the default password key? Are there any other rv's in your area that have Victron? While on vacation in spring of '19 my neighbor also had a Victron product. I could see his when I searched for devices and he could see mine. Possible to be looking for a device and connect to a default password unit.
From the manual: BMV-712 Smart:
Pairing procedure: the default pin code is 000000
After connecting, the pin code can be changed by pressing the (i) button in the top right of the app.
If the dongle pin code is lost, reset it to 000000 by pressing and holding the clear PIN button until the solid blue colored Bluetooth light flashes off and on momentarily.
I can email you the manual, it's 1.8Mb, just PM me your email.
NOTE: To change the PIN code from the app, go back to the device list page in the app. Click on the three circles to the right of your device, and select "Reset PIN code".

I see no I button or three circles
My phone says I'm connected on Bluetooth, but when I press my device it says I'm on another device. I am not.
We're is the app??
I don't have my paperwork handy
Thanks
I just tried to Google my problem, as there is no customer service
I bought this because everyone loved the Bluetooth connection
I can't get a reading.
Was working fine, yesterday
Wasted $200??
I sent an email to Bay Marine
Bought it from Alan
Hope they can help
Are you connected to any other bluetooth device with the phone in the coach?
Not to be to simplistic but try this turn bluetooth off on your phone then turn phone off then back on then turn bluetooth on after a few minutes. Try to connect to Victron app.
Disclaimer I have an android phone but the app should be similar.
Wild thought, could someone else nearby with a Victron logged into yours and changed the code? Maybe by accident?
I haven't hooked mine up yet but, " they " warn you about this possibility. Just a thought.
I've had this happen to me several times on my Victron solar controller. It thinks it is connected to another bluetooth device even though it isn't. You just need to do a hard reset. Try to pull the plug in back of the display and then replug it in after a few seconds. If that doesn't work pull the power wire (small red wire going to pc board on shunt) out of the shunt and then replug it in after a few seconds.
Will do
Thanks
This happens to me now and then. Usually restarting my phone syncs it back up correctly.
Isn't all that you need to see right on the display of the BMV?
Haven't installed the display, yet.
On the " to do" list.
First, I want to run the wire to my start batteries. Haven't done THAT yet, either. Lazy.😝😝😷😷
jbeem nailed it !!
Simple fix
Working like a charm
Thanks!!
Two down! You're on a roll!
Hi....Take a stab at detaching from shore charger or sun based. It very well might be letting you know the bank is full. I had a comparable episode to yours on one boat, and it was a basic fix, yet I can't remember what precisely it was.
On the off chance that that doesn't work the standard re-set, un-plug and so on may work.. Additionally turn off the UTP and yet again plug at the two closures.
Additionally ensure that the DI, DV, DCE, DTTG and DSOC settings are completely turned ON in the settings. I had one client unintentionally turn several them to OFF.
Funny that this post came up again today.
I just got done installing new batteries for the coach, and now the bluetooth display on my iPhone doesn't work.
I am near the connection, the display works, but no bluetooth. Trying to troubleshoot, but not getting anywhere.
HELP
I get a message to enter a code, but no idea how or where to do this.
Device doesn't appear on my bluetooth settings
Used to work, just fine
Glenn, I am not familiar with the iPhone but you need to go into setup and search for devices after you go into the Victron setup and make it searchable. The default code for Victron is 6 zero's.
Thanks
The iPhone isn't recognizing the Victron
It used to work fine
Just installed new batteries, so something might have gone amiss when the connections were made. I am trying to troubleshoot the problem, but must say Victron isn't too user friendly to me, at this point in time.
I was wondering what this was and if I needed another "thing" to jack with in my life. Fortunately, I don't need it.
If it was my android I would go to settings, Bluetooth, search for available devices. I think the problem is with the phone setup not the Victron
Glenn, you said you got a message to enter the code, so it must have attempted connection. At that point, you should be prompted to "pair" via that message. Then if you didn't change the password, use the default of 000000.
Can you see the BMV in the app?
what's a BMV ???
The battery monitor you're trying to connect to. Model BMV-712
Do you have the round display inside also?
If so does it have power?
Go back to reply #8 it fixed this problem 10 months ago according to your reply #15
this is the one you said fixed it last time I believe
OK
Update.
Tried it, again, this afternoon. I had display on the monitor, but was having a little trouble getting the app to work on my phone. I like the phone better than the monitor. Anyway, when it asked for this crazy code, I once again, put in the 6 zeros. Success!!!
It said I needed an immediate update, which I did, and then....BINGO!!! All is good
Thanks to all of you for your help, especially JR who has Off The Grid LLC in Quartzite, if y'all ever need a Foretravel owner who installs solar. I know I will look him up, next time we are at the big Q, in the big tent.
