Title: Diesel Fill Issue- 2015 Realm FS6
Post by: Sirjames on December 19, 2020, 10:06:02 pm
I purchased my 2015 Realm about a year ago.  I have issues where the pump clicks off all the time.  Opening the other side fill cap helps somewhat, but the rig cannot accept the full flow at the semi/commercial fill pumps at all.  It still clicks off at the first latch position.  It takes me a week to fill 200 gallons! (well not quite)

At some regular/light duty diesel pumps it will click off as well.

I am ready to tear it apart and add a larger fill hose neck if I have to.

Thanks for any input! (TIA)

Have you contacted FT?  It might be a known issue they can correct.

There is a vent hose that has dropped down and has a low spot  At the low spot it is holding fuel and will not let the tank vent .  Be vert carefull opening the cap on the opposite side you are filling very easy to pump fuel out that side without knowing it.

I tilt the coach with low side opposite of side filling.

Another trick that works is if you hold the pump fuel nozzle high over your head and allow the diesel in the hose to back feed and remove air pockets. We sometimes have to do that to fill our fire trucks. Not necessarily a fix to your continued problem but it may be enough to not trigger the shut off.

I would of thought any air in the hose at those flow rates fuel would push air out in the first couple of seconds. Nice to know

Our 2019 iH has the same issue. Factory solution is to not insert the hose nozzle deeply, just enough to hold the nozzle onto the filler tube.
