On a 1989 36 ft unihome grand villa what is the function of the switch bellow the 12 volt panel on the front of the bed frame?cant find out the function in any of the manuals .
Thanks
Sandy
High probability it is used to control the 110V AC power going to the engine block heater.
On our '93 U280, the switch, when turned on, sends power to a duplex 110V outlet in the engine compartment. The engine block heater is plugged into the outlet. When our switch is "ON" it lights up red.
Good idea to turn it on and then feel in the area of the block heater installation to see if it's warm after a few minutes. You could also have someone watch the voltmeter above the entrance as the block heater is turned on. There will be a voltage drop if the block heater is working. Remember to turn the block heater off before using the starter motor as any air bubble may burn the electrode out.

Turn the switch on. It will light up--red.
Go to your 120V panel and look for breaker #8 I believe. Flip it off. If the correct one for the block heater the lighted switch will turn off.
It may be the switch for the bedroom furnace.

Did you look under the raised bed at the back side of your switch to learn what it is wired to?
Every coach from the factory can be different and over the years coaches with several owners often have lots of custom added switches, so it may be up to you to show the group what you are talking about. And you may have to dig a little deeper.
I have two of those switches one for the block heater and the other is for the hot water heater
Make sure if it is the hot water electric heater that the hot water tank is full of water. If the heating rod inside the tank is not surrounded by water it will burn out quickly.
I replaced the cover on my mistrust switch

Also when in storage keep the breaker off especially with smaller supply.
