Hi attached are four photos which I assistance in identifying exactly what I am seeing
The first is of my waste outlet with a bolt through it . What is the intention of this??? I intend to install a third waste valve on the pipe and that requires cutting the pipe and am curious if removing the bolt is going to be an issue.
The second photo is the bolt from the inside. It appears not to attach to anything...
The third is of my water hose fresh water intake area. What is the hose attachment shown? Is the attachment for winterizing??
The fourth is a hose that appears to go into the waste pipe area. Am I going to have to remove the panel to investigate or is this a flush for the black tank maybe?
as always...thanks for the assistance
Peter
No idea what the bolt is for but it's nasty so clean it up :)
The fresh water inlet is probably to fill your tank bypassing the auto fill valve in case that fails.
The other hose is probably a black tank rinse hose, on my '99 the black tank would be right behind where it goes into the panel.
I wonder if that bolt is a pipe plug ?
what do you mean pipe plug??
That extra water hook up in your fresh water line might be for adding antifreeze to winterize.
Forrest, the hose in the third picture will only bypass the hose reel, at least that is how it would be on mine the fill valve is setting next to the tank on passenger side. Unless PO thought it would fill faster bu not using hose on reel!!!
Chris
To me the "Bolt" looks like something that a previous owner put there to flush the drain hose prior to disconnecting from the sewer. It looks like it was used as a"Plug", or at one time it may have had a water supply attached as a permanent flush system for the sewer hose prior to disconnect... :-\
Where you have the bolt I have a lot smaller bolt in the same place, no idea what it was for.
Noticed the wire wool, get some copper wool, it does a better job keeping mice out and does not deteriorate

My guess plug one is for rinsing but that's a complete guess
Hose two at the reel only bypassss the reel as had been said so not sure why
Third hose may be for rinsing the black tank but I wonder if it goes into the fresh tank which would fill much faster because the tank actually fills from the bottom using the factory plumbing.filling from the top is significantly faster
Thanks for all the help with this!! I will keep in mind the copper wool thing and maybe I will just pull the bolt as I am cutting the pipe and installing a third valve anyway which will be glued on with ABS cement right over the hole.
I guess I will take the front cover off the black tank area to check where that hose goes to...
My guesses would be:
The bolt? Whatever the previous owner was thinking, it's a bad idea.
The second fill hose? My guess is that the hose reel leaks and I'd be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't. Plan for the worst, hope for the best.
The hose in the wash bay? Black water tank and hose flush after the bolt hole didn't work as planned.
But at the end of the day you'll never really know. I'm pretty sure that I don't want to get into the previous owner's mind.
"I" have a seal to replace where the waste goes into my gray water tank. It was fine for a while and then . . .
Congratulations on your new rig.
I went out this morning to look at my drain line and It wasn't a bolt it was a weird PVC fitting and I have wondered what it was for.
From reading this subject I'm think it is and add on and it wasn't even done square.
Possible vent tube for draining hose when valve is closed?
