Happy today in sitting KOA Fountain, CO, but came home today and smelled a bad odor. Well the odor is a propane leak. I took a soap spray bottle and found a leak in the round thing below the electric solenoid in the picture. Is it part of the round thing below it?
Is this thing called a regulator? Where to buy?

Yes, a regulator. Available at most rv stores, Amazon, Camping World, some propane dealers. Google will be your friend.
If you want to pay to have it changed out, most propane dealers will do this for you.
A search on this forum for "propane regulator" will yield volumes regarding replacing, etc.

Not to worry! Propane is heavier than air and the compartment is vented with an open bottom so vapors will disperse. The smallest leak makes a big smell. KOA will probably have one but if not, will be able to send you to get one quickly. Jack's photo is very clear with the strap needed for a secure installaton. Yes, as Chris says, dual stage with vent pointed down. Estimate $22 to $30.

Recently replaced our propane requlator with a Marshall Excelsior MEGR-291. Purchased locally from United RV for around $23.
As FYI, United RV has their "store price" and "internet price". If you are shopping in their store, ask for their internet price. In this case, it is about $10 cheaper than the store price.
After my regulator failed on a wintry snow trip to Buffalo, NY for a football game, I was able to replace it with the single stage regulator off my propane grill to get thru the weekend. I ordered the exact Marshall unit posted above and it has been flawless ever since. It was an easy swap.
