Title: Stainless Steel Puck Light Trim?
Post by: Elliott on January 03, 2021, 08:31:00 pm
Does it exist? The boss wants to go with stainless steel hardware/appliances/light fixtures so the brass has to go. Is it possible to just replace the trim around the puck lights? I see model# F33-9110BB on the back but search results aren't yielding anything. I do not want to wire in 29 new fixtures @ roughly $25/ea like Roger did with Amazon.com: ITC (69231B-3K-DB 3" Radiance LED Overhead Light/Spring Mount:... (http://www.amazon.com/ITC-69231B-3K-DB-Radiance-Overhead-Spring/dp/B00ISLQX18/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&tag=foreforums-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957).

They are already LED, so I'm kicking around the idea of vinyl wrap if I can't find a cost effective replacement.

Elliott, We replaced out cabinet door and drawer pulls with oil rubbed bronze( walnut cabinets) and I am planning to take off covers and glass bead them then paint with a brown to match drawer pulls.  I have looked at a lot of websites and references here on forum and have never seen stainless covers( Don't mean they don't exist I just haven't found then). Pleasing DW is first priority  I was just offering a different approach. Good Luck
But if you can get them glass beaded I think they will be silver under the brass and you could clear coat them get the stainless look

We switched from brass to brushed nickel.  The trim rings and LED bulbs available at the time were about $2 less than the dimmable  LED flight fixtures with frosted glass lenses that FT was (and probably still is) using.  We sold most of the old fixtures for a buck or so.  We like the glass LED fixtures. More expensive now.

These are dimmed way down. One under the cabinet and one towards the front in the ceiling that are off.

Ay, I briefly tried to breach the subject with her and quickly decided I valued my well being more than what the interior looks like.

Roger, what did you do about the two big bronze "rings" in the recessed areas of the ceiling? I'm thinking they may need to be wrapped too. The puck trim may end up being good practice for those two big pieces.

I went with new LED pucks from Foretravel, dimmable ( good thing they are bright!!!) and no trim at all.

Stainless everywhere in salon, "neutral" puck lights

Here is an example

Recessed Lumen LED RV Light | RestoreRV (http://www.recpro.com/led-lighting/led-interior-lighting/ceiling-lights/3-5-surface-mount-led-rv-light-3200k-warm-white/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-OjKtJ-B7gIVBR-tBh0j9AIyEAQYCiABEgLb7vD_BwE)

If looking for stainless trim here is an example

Elliot,

Amazon.com: ITC (69231B-3K-DB 3" Radiance LED Overhead Light/Spring Mount:... (https://amazon.com/ITC-69231B-3K-DB-Radiance-Overhead-Spring/dp/B00ISLQX18/ref=pd_bxgy_2/134-1943179-1655900?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00ISLQX18&pd_rd_r=99b19176-d319-4355-b747-2bee85fd3ce7&pd_rd_w=Mx3di&pd_rd_wg=s9ekE&pf_rd_p=f325d01c-4658-4593-be83-3e12ca663f0e&pf_rd_r=S0XRZG2C221JQAA9ZRFY&psc=1&refRID=S0XRZG2C221JQAA9ZRFY)

Check light temp and lumens.  We run ours substantially dimmed much of the time.  Lower temp is pleasant to us.  2 4.5" ones over  the sink, one under the cbinet ofpver the kitchen counter (none there in OEM), one 4.5" over the diningroom table.

Did nothing with the brass colored trim in the ceiling recesses. There are matte foil tapes that will cover the brass colored stuff.  Someday I will replace the lights with 3528 LED strips with a serious dimmer/remote control.  Maybe sooner than later..

One could try to paint the OEM trim, but you'd likely have to peel the gold "sticker" material off before painting to get it to stick.  Not worth the effort for me so I bought some of these:

There is warm white and cool white option (both linked).  I bought a pack of each, and only installed the warm white in the bedroom under cabinets.  The rest of coach has the cool white and the performance is so far superior to the stock units (and less heat output and power draw to boot).  You could literally replace all the lights in the coach in under 4 hours.  You'll want to cut the wires from the old fixtures as close to the light as physically possible to give you as much wire to work with as possible.
