Title: Experience With Headhunter Royal Flush Toilet?
Post by: codytayloe on January 06, 2021, 08:21:23 pm
We had a Microphor toilet in our last Foretravel. It was comfortable. It was quiet. It used a lot of water to vacate non-liquid contents of the bowl.

Our current coach has a Thetford Aria Deluxe II. It is comfortable. It is loud... really loud. It is good on water usage.

The Aria Deluxe II is right across from the kid's bunks. Overnight flushing will wake the kids, the neighbors, and the dead. There is nothing discreet about flushing it.

Now, the final nail in the coffin for our Aria Deluxe II is the valve has started to malfunction where it sometimes does not open (meaning it's not flushing), and when it does flush, the valve will occasionally hang open and won't close allowing pungent odors to fill the air. There's a knob on the back of the toilet. I can fiddle with it and usually get it to open or close, but sometimes it takes a while and no matter how much I operate the knob, I cannot "fix" it for good. We may get one flawless cycle out of every 20 attempts at flushes.

I have read posts about taking these toilets apart, cleaning, and making adjustments to the internal parts with great success. That's great, but it really doesn't solve my noise issue. I am not interested in disassembling the toilet, but I'll sell it cheap if someone is looking for an unrewarding project.

I'm looking at the Headhunter Royal Flush Bravo. Does anyone have any first-hand experience with the Headhunter Royal Flush series of toilets? I would love to hear some feedback. Pros? Cons? It is a costly upgrade.

You might get some information on a Prevost forum. They seem to have used Head hunters in the bus conversions.

I had thought about the Prevost forums but wanted to try here first. I got trashed over there for my "tupperware" coach last time I asked an innocent question and mentioned what I had. Not all forums are as kind as the Foreforums.

Cody,  You should ask on the Prevost Community forum.  They do not care what you own and will be very helpful.  The forum is free but you must register and log in to post.  Been a member for years and attend one of the No Rally Rallies for years too.

They have been very kind to Carolyn and I.  prevostcommuity.com

Thanks Rudy! I will give them another shot. I recall you were about to head to one of their rallies when you helped me with my AquaHot a few years ago. I am already registered over there and will give it a go.

I have a Headhunter toilet in our coach. This unit requires a large capacity water pump. That pump is over a $1000. If you have a direct dump over the black tank, I would go with a manual toilet. If I had a direct dump, I would go with a manual toilet.

I do like simple manual flush toilets, but I have had the head hunter toilet in 2 different brand coaches. 1 coach did have the expense 120v water pump. 2 coach had a simple setup and I liked it. It was on a Country coach Magna, you may also reach out to there forum for suggestions. The simpler system just used a big expansion tank, which Foretravel typically has, and it worked off just a single 12 volt pump. I really liked the fact that you do not get the tank odors because the head hunter by design doesn't allow the odors to enter the cabin area. The HH does make some noise to, but maybe not as loud as you current toilet, nothing will be quite a quiet as a manual toilet though.

In summary if I had the funds and really wanted the HH toilet, I would buy it and set it up the simpler way like the Country coach. Best of both worlds.

I purchased the Dometic 320 for our coach when I removed the original microphor.  Just got tired of all the issues with it.  This commode is an ADA and elongated and quiet to boot!  Happy Camper!

The PO had installed a composting toilet in my coach because they boondocked most of the time. I don't boondock so I replaced it with a  Dometic 320 and am very pleased with it. It dumps straight down into the black tank.

I agree with being simple. If you have the toilet above the black tank, the 320 is the way to go.

Thanks all for the suggestions! Sounds like the 320 is a popular and well praised option!
