The travel mode light comes on but the coach won't go up or down to go to ride height, I have to do it manually.

Part 7
The coach will not return to the proper travel height with the ignition on and the system off.
1. Check the fuse for the travel solenoids. A blown fuse indicates a shorted wire or solenoid valve. Unplug one air harness at a time to determine which wire or manifold is shorted. Then unplug the travel solenoid to determine a bad wire or valve.
2. If the fuse is not blown, check the corresponding pins in the control box for the travel solenoids. If +12 power is not present, replace the control box. If power is present check for power at the manifolds. Then replace the solenoid valve for any bag that will not reinflate.
Thanks Chuck I found a 7.5 fuse blown. I haven't done any more checking yet. Are all the solenoid valves the same as if they are it would probably a good idea to have a spare.
Yes, on your '99 model all the solenoid valves on the front and rear HWH 6-pack manifolds should be interchangeable.
One exception: coaches that have a tag axle use valves
on the tag manifold that have a larger internal orifice but are otherwise identical.
Chuck I had time and no rain this morning so I did some checking and one of the travel plugs in the front was corroded so I sprayed
some contactor cleaner and it quit blowing the fuse. Thanks for the help.
When I went to leave the fuse was blown again so I'm not out of the woods yet but I do know what solenoid is the problem.
I will order a couple of new solenoids or a new coil it I can just get that.

Chuck which is the best place to get the coils from Foretravel or HWH
I don't know. I have never purchased a coil. HWH can be hard to get hold of. Give them both a call and see who has the best price.
Unless you just have to have the fancy plug you can use any 12VDC coil with the correct bore. I have used a coil off of a snow blower as that was the one that I could get fastest. In fact it is still in service after 7 or 8 years.

Will need a heat gun but you'll never have to worry about them.
Scott
Well I think it is finally fixed but I won't hold my breath. My coaches air bags hold air really well so I was able to manually set the
coach so I could keep using it. If I have it up on the blocks after a few days I still can pull the block out with having to air it up.
The axillary compressor has never come on since I have had the coach so I don't even know if it works. I will check it out when it gets
warmer. Thanks for the idea Mike I will look for the coils for a spare and I would just connect the fancy plug to the new coil.
Still having trouble with the travel mode. This time there was no power to the fuse. Took the control box off and took it apart. I took
two of the circuit boards over to a friend and fixed a bad part in the circuit board. Replaced it and it worked fine. This morning
driving up to Whistler the travel light went out and yellow light came on. It was raining this morning and that happens a lot
went raining. Also the fuse was blown again. When I get home I will wet the wiring down to see if I can locate the problem.
Oh the compressor works.
Was checking the travel mode yesterday and it was working fine after I replaced the fuse. I hate the things when I trying to trouble
shoot them that they work. There is that and when it gets wet out the system alarm goes on and when it dries out it go out. It
tried wetting it down be no luck.
I would think that the only thing exposed to the weather on the HWH leveling system would be the wiring for the solenoids. I would check the wires going to the six packs and especially the connectors. Maybe use a little dielectric grease at connectors.
When we started the Cummins after changing the fuel lines all the green lights were on HWH screen and when I pushed the dump
valve it kept on dumping until I pushed the off button. The green light stayed on and it was supper time so I will look at it tomorrow.
Took the coach for a warm up and the travel system seems to be working and not blowing fuses. I don't know if changing
the fuel lines had anything to do with it as the wires would have been pushed around. If it fixed I will take it.
Well the saga is still going on. Before the last trip it kept blowing the 7.5 fuse so I traced
it to the coil I had changed way back. Took the coil off and bench tested it with it using just
under an amp. Put the old coil back on and everything was working. Got home and today
I found the fuse gone again so I check to see how many amps the whole system is using
and it was 4 amps. It seems the system blows a fuse every time it rains.
Sounds like a coil may be bad. Try North west RV supply for HWH parts. Good folks.
Peter,
I would fill the connectors to the travel solenoids and the plug on the pressure switch on the rear HWH manifold with dielectric grease to eliminate water from shorting out the circuit.
As Jbeem suggested ten months ago.
Well I found that the coil is the problem. Last time I checked it the coil check fine on the
bench and this time when I checked it I caught it using at least 2 amps and then the amps
startinging dropping quickly. It got hot where the wires go into the coil. The next day when
I checked it, it was using under an amp which is the way it should be. I've covered the area
where the wires on into the coil with silicone and hopefully that will keep the water out.
The coil that I have been using is the new one that I had bought. Well I will wait and see
if this fixes it.
HydraForce 6302012 Solenoid Valve Coil
Peter this is the coils that I use,If I remember correctly I got the last coils I bought off eBay for about 20 ea
and my memory may be off
Chris
Thanks Chris I found them on Amazon.ca for $28 Canadian using the part #.
I went an check the travel fuse this morning and it's still good. It was raining hard the
last trip so maybe I fixed the problem. The new coil that I bought when I first had the
problem had the same problem as the old one so it threw me for a loop. I will be buying
a tube of Sikaflex soon to fix a leak that I temporarily fixed with silicone so I will cover the
silicone I put on the coil to make sure I don't have any more problems.
