Is part labeled Javelina Warnig Light Alarm Module p/n 42-61046 in my dash the inverter that controls dimming of gauges? If not can anyone give me guidance in locating inverter. Dash torn apart for blower fans and thought may try to address unreadable night time gauges.
No Inverter, Dash Lights are dimmed by turning the knob to the right of the headlight switch. Even on full bright they are pretty dim bulbs after 20 years.
I seem to recall a post a while back about somebody replacing the instrument lamps with LED and reported the instruments being much easier to read. At least an option to consider.
It was my understanding my gauges are electroluminescent. PO replaced one gauge with bulb type and it is blindingly bright compared to existing. Existing does not seem to brighten or dim with dimmer. It just increases the volume of humming as you turn towards brighter
Your coach is several years newer than ours. so could be lots different. Our panel is electroluminescent, but the instruments all have incandescent bulbs.
My '99 has incandescent bulbs for the gauges.
2002 still has bulbs for gauges. I believe the electroluminescent is just for the border around the gauge cluster.
Didnt see any housings for bulbs in gauges except one obviously replaced by PO. It was wired separate, had housing at top for bulb and was not on dash dimmer. All others just had wiring connected on bottom of gauge saw no housing to accept replacement bulb. Guess I will pull one of the originals and look closer. Can't understand why PO would replace gauge with non OEM especially if required rewiring and not set up w existing harness and controls. Would like to figure out what's humming when trying to adjust dash brightness
