So I finally reached out to Foretravel and provided documents for the factory safe combo. This is the analog safe it has not been open since the early 2000's I would guess. Combo does not open safe. I'm guessing it is gummed up or operator is incompetent.
My question for those of you who posse this safe is this sequence correct? Do I count rotations from my previous number and then proceed to next number or just to the next number? I'll probably have to remove safe to elevate temperature to help sticky old grease move once. I'll service if I can open before closing. It does feel as thou there is three levels of resistance when changing rotation

Please find the safe combination for your coach #5834 listed below.
This combination is the one it left here with...if an owner changed it
after it left here I will not have that.
Left 23...spin around 4 times...stopping on 23
Right 33...spin around 3 times...stopping on 33
Left 81...spin around 2 times...stopping on 81
Right...spin until it stops...should open at that point
Good luck!
Thanks Scott
I have to spin ours 6 or 8 times to the right before I start the sequence. Maybe it clears it or something. Ours also operates like it is gummed up. Maybe the nature of the mechanism.... Not a very good safe mechanism.... It is what it is.
Our is digital but my experience with other manual rotary combination safes
Rotate a bunch of times to the left stopping at your 1st number (at least 4 rotations)
Rotate to the right passing the 2nd number twice and landing on it the 3rd time
Rotate to the left passing the 3rd number once and landing on it the 2nd time
Rotate to the right until dial stops. Open safe
The combo works as this;
Start four (4) or more turns passing Zero (0) Counter Clockwise ( CCW )
Stop on 23
Next three (3) turns passing Zero ( 0 ) Clockwise (CW)
Stop on 33
Next two ( 2 ) turns passing Zero ( 0 ) CCW )
Stop on eighty one (81)
Next turn ( CW ) passing Zero ( 0 ) until dial stops - turn lever on safe - should open
Make sure You pass Zero ( 0 ) the proper number of times after stopping on the combination number..... ^.^d
So that is what I've tried. Pulled out in under five minutes. Will let it heat upend keep trying. Does sound like it's full of gold bars, more like metal B Bs. Lol
Thanks for input. No joy yet
Scott
Gerry I'll go thru that Sequence and let it set a hour at each position. So far no joy thank you
Scott
Dsd was the safe bolted into the frame or wood? I would think it would be bolted and would need to be opened to remove it. At least I would hope it would be.
Lol definitely quicker to remove than open.
Two #1 Phillips screws
Four#2 Phillips screws
Remove trim door
Remove six #2 Phillips screws
Slide safe out
Scott
So opened safe. Took under two minutes once I committed. Now that it is open I'll remove lock and figure out combo and reassemble. Good fireproof box, may skip the combo portion and go with a key
Scott
So this is a simple lock system and easy to figure out combo once it is open. It is plastic and should never need service. My first two numbers were correct and the third was in the teens instead of a highnumber. Opens easy with corrected combo
Scott
Sequence is left hand rotation to the starting number. Clockwise to the next number and then a go two more times. Counterclockwise to the next number and around one more time and clockwise and it will immediately open. If it goes more than almost a turn you missed it
Scott
Looks like better fireproofing than most. Lots of cheaper safes use sheetrock with the premise that it will release moisture to cool the contents during a fire. Probably not for long though.
So as a final update. I changed the old combo to match another combo safe I have. Kinda a pain but doable. Very fine plastic wheels with like 80 teeth. Much easier having box on welding table so you can view easily. Stuck the end cap back on and tacked in place. Was spot welded every four inches before. Reinstalled cap and welded on. Box is 18 gauge. Quite thin to mig weld but to lazy to break out heliarc. Painted outside and and reinstalled. Works good now. Still think the fireproofing is good enough. Considered changing to a single number combo but just stuck with what I know. Looks good on the inside. About a 1/16 inch shorter now.

Scott I put in security screws or maybe the one way screws in when I replaced my safe. It would be harder for a thief to remove it.
Ha ha ha. Mine is like on slides to remove. It's not a safe but a fairly good fire box. I'm still considering putting a Drywall screw threw the bottom into the floor? I would of converted to a single digit but was easier to just reset to another combo I use at work for tools. CCW to sixteen then CW to open would be good enough for me. Quicker access too.
