Trying to check front wheel hub oil. Passenger side nut was tight but I was able to remove it. The driver's side hub nut is very tight. I want to confirm that it's removed with clockwise rotation before I use too much force. 2018 ih.

Have you checked for an "L" on the end of the stud on the left side?
Not familiar with your coach, but on the older coaches, we could just remove the hub cap and look at sight glass. No nuts needed to be removed. Maybe the IH-45 is different.
If you can see any threads showing, look down and you can see the direction the nut needs to go to move to the outside. Like Brett says, check for an "L" and also look to see if anything is stamped on the nut itself on the outside face.

Bret I'm not sure what stud you are referring to. There is a serrated cap that needs to be removed to see the oil level.
You could just remove the hub cap to check oil then you might be able to see which way the inner nut is removed.

The nut just need to pull straight out don't turn. Either with a smooth panel pliers. Or with your hand just working back-and-forth. Good luck it work on my front wheels.
I was referring to the nuts/studs that hold the wheel on.
Thanks to repliers. I guess wheel styles have changed over the years. The, as I called it, hub nut, has a Spartan logo on it's face and bolt threads that bolt into a u-shaped arched piece attached to the wheel. On our last Freightliner chassis, the "hub nuts" were right and left-hand threaded so that the nut always rotated towards tighten when the bus was moving forward. I suspect Spartan's do the same but I sure would like someone to confirm that before I over tighten the driver's side and strip something. Hopefully these 2 pics show what I'm referring to...
On the one you have off what is written on the label? There would have to be 2 part numbers for the brackets and the nuts to have different threads. Pretty sure it will just be a normal thread in that location.

The threaded bolt with the Spartan logo has no numbers but the bracket does:
0187-WW4-001 and RW0961-2S
Obviously you figured out the nut with the spartan logo turned to the left to come off.
This is only a decorative cover. The bracket you now see on the wheel is attached to two of your hubcap bolts. The red plug in hubcap is where you add hub oil if needed. Look at the face of the plastic hubcap and you will see 2 lines this is where you check hub oil level. Look below the red plug at the lines As long as oil is between the lines in this area you are good. This is as far as you need to go unless wheel bearing service is needed.
If that is what you need to do. I can explain next step. Usually a shop would do that procedure for you.
For (most of) those with years of Foretravel chassis, before the switch to Spartan in 2018, coaches have/had these which were nicknamed "baby moon". They were held on with a couple of the "hug-a-lug" lugnut covers that had a flanged base.

Spartan tech help says passenger side flanged hub cap nuts spin counter clockwise to remove, the driver's side go clockwise to remove. Thanks to all that have replied.
Sorry to bring this up again but I want to correct what the Spartan tech said that the driver's side hub cap nuts turn clockwise to remove. At least on our coach, that is not correct. All hub cap nuts loosen counter clockwise. Hopefully, 'That's all folks".
After all that, I hope you found the oil level okay, otherwise there is something else to remove and replace, just to add oil. If you did have to add oil, a seal is probably leaking and needing replacement. The pictures in reply #9 helped explain the problem. Glad you solved the problem, good luck, and enjoy your coach.
