Hello,
This is our 1st post here and I hope this type of post is allowed (it is on other MH forums), but I am trying to get an accurate gauge on fair pricing on a new or slightly used IH45. Currently, there are 2 new 2020's at MHSRV that are listed at 39 and 40% off of MSRP, and 2 used 2020's that are priced not too far from that, although one is about 60K lower than the other.
With the 2022's in production (I believe), that makes the 20's two model years old and if the same holds true for Foretravel as some of the other higher-end production coaches (Newmar, Entegra, Tiffin, etc.), the current market value would be about 45-50% of MSRP.
I know this probably does not hold true for Prevost and Newell, so my question is where does Foretravel fall on this scale? Is 40% a great deal for a new 2020 or is there some room to negotiate? Also, do these units depreciate similar to SOB's?
I am certainly happy to discuss this in a private conversation as well.
Thanks for any help/input you can provide - looking forward to hopefully becoming part of the Foretravel family.

It's a good discussion to have - there hasn't been much "depreciation talk" in recent years since volumes of Foretravels produced are significantly lower than they used to be.
It's a long time ago, but back in the mid-2000's when there were about 7-10x the coaches built, first year depreciation was in the 30-40% from new range. Second year drop was less, but your estimate based on Newmar and Entegra is likely close for a 2 year old coach.
Of course, do keep in mind MSRP on a Foretravel is a completely fabricated and ficticious number, especially since they only sell new from one dealer chain (The RVOne/MHSRV one).
