I am used to being able to find just about any how-to I need for the diesel engine in my truck online. I am learning that is not the case for my 450 ISM/M11. Has anyone found a good book that covers the fundamentals of heavy duty diesel engines? Just something to jumpstart a beginner? I've ordered two now, only to find out they only contain homework/work sheets for content delivered in a classroom setting.

I bought a CD off Ebay with a complete manual for my M-11. It was not very expensive, but it is thorough - something like 900 pages.
The operation manual is very good too - covers oil change, basic adjustments, etc.
There is one here in the media section also

Thanks Mike, 585 pages should cover everything.
Thanks guys, I'm getting a quote from fedex to have it printed off now. What about a fundamentals/concepts book that's good for a higher level understanding? I can follow instructions but would like to have enough of an understanding to do some critical thinking of my own
I always learn the fastest with a visual presentation. Probably best to start where it all began with Rudolph Diesel, the inventor of the diesel engine. Here are a few to get you started.

You should be able to go to the Cummins website and get the troubleshooting and repair manual.
You need to enter your ESN and then go from there.
If you can't get it let me know.
Thank you. I actually signed up in their portal before I made this post but don't have access to the coach to get the ESN for another couple weeks. Patience is unfortunately not one of the virtues I was blessed with
If you want it NOW pm me your email
600 pages of pleasure reading for the next time I'm in the dog house :D
This is basic.
