Pretty tired of fooling with the accordion style front windshield privacy shade. Just broke another one of those plastic retractors. Would like some 'low-dollar' solution suggestions for replacement of the shade. No day-night, just privacy shades of some sort.
Thanks, Mike
I use the ones that fold up in a circle and store in the back of the seats. The kind you can find for a car. In cold weather I double them up for a little more insulation.

In the winter I use Reflectix Bubble Pack that I get from Home Depot for insulation and in the summer when the sun is shining on the
windshield. It makes a good blind although the previous owner put in electric blinds which make the best sunshade while driving.
Two manual plastic-chain-clutch activated night roller shades. Home Depot, etc. Make a couple of vinyl triangular hangers for the two edges of the windshield to close off those spaces at night. We mounted roller shade brackets to the carpeted wood above the windshield where our speakers are mounted. Been using these for over 15 years. With driver side chain on street-side, shade is used for driving into the sun and lowered while driving. Add lots of extra shade fabric on roller to force shade toward inside of windshield when down. We do not have stiffener in bottom pleat so shade can drape over dash. 100 % private.
Yes, I have the reflective stuff for insulation, and have incorporated a little hanger system to put them up.
But I kind of like Barry and Cindy's idea for ease of use. Think I'm gonna look into that.
