Two weeks ago I came out to MH after visit with Grand Son. The genset had been running for several hours. It looked like the MH was on fire. OH ----, I ran out and the genset was running, smoking every where, none out the exhaust. I killed it. It was blowing oil every where.
Today I got it out, took the top off. Look what I found. It is a welch plug blown out with a silicone plug also. There is a part number for it is 519-0293 in the parts book. I have bought it for $4.15 and $4.95 shipping. The plug is used to stop up the hole on the case where the governor shaft goes into engine.
I wonder why did the plug come out? Why had someone put red silicone on the plug?
I will put the new plug in the hole, run the genset and hope the plug does not come out later.?? I don't know of any way to test the plug.
Any comments and ideas,
Pat
Wow, never heard of that one.
When back going, check crankcase pressure-- about all I can think of.
Check the muffler. It has a drain plug because it collects carbon. Part the the spark arresting feature.
