My rv does not have auto generator start. So in looking for information on how to install, I came across this well done video on how to install the manual version of the Magnum Auto Gen Start.
The Magnum installation manual has specific settings for the Onan, Kohler, and the PowerTecch generator I have in my rv. I especially liked his showing his error in completing the wiring. So.......do notice his comment in the "Show More" section. "I had some issues I created wiring this up so: PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW the instructions!!!" I have a Xantrex inverter, so I will do more research before choosing which one to use, one from Magnum or one from Xantrex.

If your Xantrex 2012 is a Xanbus enabled inverter, and you have the system control panel (SCP), Xantrex offers this AGS that will communicate with the SCP. (http://www.xantrex.com/power-products/default/automatic-generator-start.aspx) It's nice to have all the controls in one, neat, package.
I have Magnum in our coach, Trace/Xantrex/Schnieder in our off grid house and shop. Both brands are good quality.

Dunno why the URL didn't take
Thank you, yes, for me, I will use the Xantrex Xanbus AGS to go with my SW2012 inverter/charger. It appears safer to me as it will have access to all my battery, inverter, and charger information.
It will get all it's information, such as battery voltage, whether the generator is running, etc. from the Xantrex remote panel for my SW2012.
