Title: House WaterPump Switch
Post by: Yetch on February 16, 2021, 07:00:22 pm
Woke up this morning with no water.  Oat was -8, bay temps were 50's.  To make a long story short;  I discovered that just because the pump switch is on, along with indicator light, is not an indication that the pump is on.  I didn't know this, but there is an odd looking resettable circuit breaker located in the left rear bay on the circuit board with the wing-nuttted cover.  The light can be on, even if the pump is not getting power.

Mike,

You should have a manual reset breaker hid in there on the buss bar for the water pump. The odd looking breaker may be your latching relay for the water pump.

Mike, there are two latching relays wired like this, one is for the fill valve solenoid, the other is for the water pump.  The relays look like the one in the picture.  The switches close a path to ground which cycles the latch/release of the relay.  When it is latched power is supplied to the pump or thr solenoid and the appropriate indicator lights.

If the indictor lights are on verify power is at the pump.

The indicator light was on with no power to the pump.  I reset that relay switch in the photo and pump started working again.

Mike, you might want to check the connection to the latching relay on the output side.  It might be loose.

I'll check that out (when it gets a little bit warmer).

B4 you tear your coach apart, read this.  Happened to me when it hit -5 in October.  Water  pipe(s) at the base of the Aquahot froze overnight, even though AH was up and running.  There is a air admittance hole in the floor of the AH bay that's right under the pipes. If the pipes aren't insulated, then that is most likely what happened to to you. I covered the hole in the floor with a folded up bath rug and it hasn't happened since.  FWIW.  Woody.
