Title: No Power from Onan generator
Post by: djpauls on March 14, 2021, 10:02:27 am
Camped at Walmart last night.  Woke up this morning with low batteries.  Started Onan with battery boost.  Ran for about an hour normally.  Charging batteries, powering coffee pot.  Then noticed coffee pot was off.  Surge guard power monitor indicates normal voltage.  Outback monitor is dead.  No inverter.  No 110v in coach.  Tried turning main breaker on generator off and on.  Ideas?

Thanks for your help!

Turn off and back on the on-generator breakers.

Turn off and back on the on-generator breakers.
I tried that.  No change.  Outback monitor is dead with Generator off or on.

Not sure how to check it.  Drove all day.  Batteries fully charged. Stopped at Walmart for the night.  Outback monitor is operational. Shows that inverter is on but displays an error code.  No 110v in coach.  Started Onan generator and 110v works.  I suspect that the problem is in the Outback Inverter/Charger.  Will be home tomorrow.  No trips planned for a couple of months so should have plenty of time to figure it out.  "It's a Hobby."

That's a good attitude.    ^.^d

I also like to say owning a coach is job security for me.  Since I am chief mechanic on our crew I'll never get fired cuz there's always something on our coach that needs fixin'.
