Title: SeeLevel
Post by: jor on March 17, 2021, 09:23:31 pm
Got my SeeLevel installed. Glad to get rid of the Audit system. As others have done, I bought two units so the senders could cover the whole tank. For the black and gray tanks I cut one of the senders at 10.5" and the other at 9" which puts the ends of the senders very close to the top and bottom of those tanks. The water tank is taller so I used two unmolested senders and split the difference for the top and bottom. Should be good.

I installed one of the monitors in the wet bay and the other where I've located my EMS and Trimetric.

This is a 34 footer. I ran new wires to the tanks. Under the stove, through the floor and across the top of the gray tank to the other side. I used the same route on a 95 300.

I bought from RVUpgrades.com @ $200 each. I had initially ordered from Best Converter as they were 25 bucks cheaper, however, I had a lot of problems getting them so I cancelled the order and went with the other guys.

Have you figured out if your propane tank level is anywhere close to reality?  The reading on ours doesn't seem even close.  Not that it matters - we refill once a year and don't worry about it.

Yea, sure. Reads perfectly! Did you feel a pang of jealousy when you read that?  :D Actually, I decided to ignore the LP feature. I have had two other SeeLevel systems and the LP readings on both were way off. So... when I push that button I get OPn.

Nicely done, JOR.  It's nice to be able to tell the actual level of the tanks for a change, right?  See ya, Javelina!!!  W.

One thing I forgot to mention regarding SeeLevel installation. The non-Aqua Hot rigs often have an round access hole from the compartment adjacent to the water heater. I used that hole one time for a SeeLevel installation but it is much easier if you enlarge that hole. I got this idea from Chuck's post on his installation. Anyhow, if you don't have a water heater, you're golden; if you do, cut that hole!

Jor, nice job!  I still have the two I ordered from RVupgrades and have yet to install them.  Still thinking on the wiring and how to run with lest amount of issues!  Did you use the shielded wire that Roger recommends?  Thanks, looks like a great job!

I used 5 wire-18 gauge from Home Depot @ 65 cents per foot.

I ran one run from the tanks to the monitor. I ran another from the coach batteries to the monitor.

Batts to Monitor: I used two of the five so have three spare for whatever.
Tanks to monitor: I used three of the five. Two for tank sender and ground and one as a 12v + for the monitor that I installed in the wet bay. Two extra wires for whatever.

Joe, the cable I suggested isn't shielded wire just a jacketed duplex marine wire. The jacket helps to protect the wires inside.  You can get 2-5 wires in a jacket, sort of like Romex cable.  Easier to run a single cable than several individual wires and tidier too.

Thank you both for the quick replies!
