Title: SeeLevel Install Issue
Post by: Bill B on March 20, 2021, 01:01:02 pm
I'm installing a SeeLevel 709 in my fiancĂ©'s motorhome.  Almost done but the grey tank is showing 46% when tank is empty.  Initially, it worked properly with a empty tank reading of 0.  I have repositioned the sensor, filled and emptied the tank and rechecked all connections.  Hopping someone has experienced this and knows of a solution.  Thanks in advance for any help.  Will call SeeLevel Monday morning if still having this problem.

Bill, did you use just one strip or two?  If two they need to be trimmed correctly with a tab clipped as I recall and in the setup you need to tell it you are using two strips.

I'm using only one strip.  I went through the calibration process as well as the programming process.  I believe I have a clue, and that is the signal strength is low on the sensor that is not working.  Now the black tank is doing the same thing with a low signal level, Grey 14% and Black 28%. I believe the wiring is ok as they worked when first installed.  I'm thinking maybe a ground issue.  Will check on that tomorrow.  Old knees have had enough for one day.

Bill,
If you haven't already, put some water in all the tanks and see if it doesn't resolve. I was getting low signal strength or no signal strength until I added water. Then all was well with 50 to 60 strength and accurate tank readings. The other thing is to make sure you are using the same ground for your monitor as you are for the tank sensors. Good luck.

Thanks Roger and jor.  Didn't get a chance to work on it today but will tackle again tomorrow.  I used existing wiring and believe I have a grounding issue.  Will run new wiring from sensors and battery tomorrow.
